South Somerset Filipino Friends Association

Our Mission

South Somerset Filipinos and Friends Association (SSFFA) is a non-profit and non-political organisation that aims to foster camaraderie, mutual support and cooperation among Filipinos, British families and friends living within the area of South Somerset. We also promote the welfare and interest of members and their families.

SSFFA Objectives

  • To develop, foster and protect the rights, interests and welfare of the members of SSFFA.
  • To encourage community involvement in any activity beneficial to the members of SSFFA, their families, the host community or the Philippines.
  • To bring the members together and generate community solidarity.
  • To encourage a sense of community pride through better community relations and family participation in community issues.
  • To encourage prospective members to join SSFFA and participate in its activities. SSFFA will not discriminate against individuals or groups on the basis of race, religion, colour, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, income, citizenship status, or political affiliation in any of its policies, recommendations, or actions.
  • To promote Filipino values, traditions, morals and ethics through acceptable means.
  • To network with organisations and individuals who share similar objectives.
  • To research important social, economic, cultural and political issues that face the members or their families and make available the results through written materials and educational programmes.
  • To contribute to policy analysis and evaluation in order to lobby for improvements to society.

How to become a Member

Membership shall be open to any individual who is living within or outside the area of South Somerset, is and remains sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the SSFFA.
