The Asian Women & Friends Group
was set up to make contact with the
minority ethnic population in Somerset. AW&F aims to support individuals and groups to encourage their participation into activities among themselves as well as with the wider community.
Learning opportunities in a wide range of subjects will also be offered to the members. AW&F will act as an information hub for its members about the services and activities in the community so as to increase their confidence to access them.
The AW&F will encourage the young people in the group to promote and continue their traditions, such as Traditional cooking & music in celebrating their cultures. A big aspect will be for all members to learn more about each others cultures present in Somerset and to be a support network for all of them.
The Asian Women & Friends Group is supported by the SEDGEMOOR BLACK & MINORITY ETHNIC FORUM which is a part of the SOMERSET RACIAL EQUALITY COUNCIL
